Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor
My interest in chemical dependency began as I tried to understand how predisposing factors in early adolescence can be shaped through biological and social influences. I am passionate to help people through traumatic experiences from chemical dependency and substance use disorders. I strive to support clients as they rebuild healthy perceptions of themselves while also encouraging them to establish strong relationships with their family and community. I enjoy working with adults who may be struggling with addiction by developing individualized treatment strategies.
I believe that the integration of various evidence-based approaches is crucial for recovery in shaping behavior and emotional and psychological needs. I value cognitive-behavioral therapy and rational emotive behavior therapy (REBT); emphasizing how behavior, emotional experiences, and thinking can significantly impact how we heal. When working with clients, I also like to focus on the importance of mindfulness-based approaches in the reduction of psychological and physiological symptoms.
Currently, I am a senior at Argosy University of Minnesota pursing a B.A. in Psychology with a concentration in chemical dependency. My achievements at Argosy University include Department of Chair Achievement Awards and Leadership Scholarship.
